Acrylic on canvas

48 x 36 in.

This abstract acrylic on canvas painting by Italian American painter and Capital Strategist, Francesca Lorenzini, provides a visually complex and cerebral experience to the viewer. The composition divides canvas into a grid structure with a patchwork background of distinct square and rectangular tiles, each containing a different, intricate two-dimensional pattern. Some of which are reminiscent of traditional European, Asian, North African, and American Folk motifs. These patterns feature a vibrant color palette of blues, greens, yellows, reds, and black. Floating above this patchwork of decorative forms are two prominent, three-dimensional geometric forms. A large, gridded sphere, sectioned into shades of blue, purple, and red, is nested inside a transparent 3D cube. A swirling, twisted, Fibonacci spiral shape, rendered in a gradient of blue and white, hovers on the right. The interplay between the flat, decorative patterns and the dynamic, volumetric forms creates a fascinating tension, inviting the viewer to explore the relationship between different dimensions, cultures, crafts, and artistic aesthetics.
