This cerebral and surreal painting by Italian American painter and Capital Strategist, Francesca Lorenzini, combines a classical, decorative background with a central, modern, and three-dimensional geometric form. The piece is dominated by a repeated floral and leaf pattern that evokes a sense of traditional, arts and crafts, design reminiscent of damask floral fabric or wallpaper. The pattern features vibrant red, pink, yellow and purple flowers, green foliage, and black scrolling, on a cream and red background. In contrast cyborg hand, with gridded facets, rendered in shades of purple, descends from the top of the canvas. Its fingers resting on a glowing, grid of concentric waves in warm yellow, orange, and red tones. The hand and the wave form are drawn with a sense of mathematical perspective and volume, creating a striking tension with the flat, ornate pattern behind them.
